Landform Regions
Sudbury is located in the province of Ontario which is home to multiple landform regions such as: the Hudson's Bay Lowlands and the Canadian Shield. Sudbury is located in the Canadian Shield land form region and in the boreal shield ecozone. Sudbury is also located near many of Canada's Great Lakes such as: Lake Superoir, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. Sudbury is surrounded by over 100 small lakes and bodies of water.
Natural Landscape
Sudbury is located on the Canadian Shield which makes its natural landscape filled with hills, minerals, and rocks. It is also located in the boreal shield ecozone region which means the landscape is filled with large dense forest regions. The city is also home to a watershed and many small lakes. These small lakes include Ramsey Lake and Kelly lake.

City Growth
Originally a mining town Sudbury is known for its mining industry. It is mostly known for the mining of nickel ore. The mining industry is what helped the city increase in size. Similarly, Sudbury is also in a large boreal forest region so the lumber industry also contributed to the growth of the city. Also its location contributes to its large population. Sudbury is located next to Toronto which is the biggest city in Canada.
